Action & Adventure

Surfing

The stunning Chintsa beach is a hop, skip and jump from Buccaneers which means that watersports are a must. Buccs offers a fully qualified surf coach with all equipment and wetsuits provided, for an exhilarating lesson that will get you riding a wave by the end of your stay. If the conditions aren’t good at Chintsa then well-known Queensberry Bay, Yellowsands or Nahoon are an option.
  • Multi day surf camps can be arranged
  • After your lesson keep the board and wetsuit for the rest of day
  • Already a surfer? Wetsuit and surf board also available for hire
  • Stand up paddle boarding lessons available for the Chintsa lagoon

Beach Horse Rides

Passionate Penny and the “horse girls” from Newhampshire Rehabilitation Horse Farm provide the opportunity to experience a Brilliant Bush and Beach Ride best suited to your riding level. A heart thumping, hoof pounding, wave splashing experience.

Safari

Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserve is situated literally on our doorstep. Home to the Big 5, they offer great game drives, and quad biking options to view the African bush and animals on the reserve.

Cultural Tours

Pink Bicycle Project

The Pink Bicycle Project offers you a morning of “give-back” at our next-door Waldorf School. Weekdays only. A donation of R100 is all you need.
  • Take a walk up the road to get to the school
  • Read a book to the kids
  • Help with the lunch making or a bit of gardening
  • Or just spend some time in this caring and kind little school
  • Not available over school holidays and weekends

Temie’s Drop-in Centre and Soup Kitchen hike

Meet in Buccs Reception and have a guided walk across the beach to our local township to help make a lunch for the Chintsa kids. Donation of R60 paid directly to Temie is all you need plus walking legs and, of course, a big heart!

Bulugha School concert

Every Thursday during school terms we take our guests to experience a heartwarming school concert at a local farm school up the road. Donations are welcome, with funds raised helping the lunch feeding scheme at the school.

Join us for a twice weekly class of yoga, taught by the lovely Cher, in our yoga pagoda, nestled in forested quietness.

Tea in the Trees

A lovely Sunday marketspace next door to Buccs with occasional live music and great cake and coffee. Take a walk up the road after our free Sunday breakfast and enjoy a chilled Sunday morning under the cover of an indigenous forest.

Our legendary, free Sunday breakfast is our gift to you, our very special guests, to enjoy in our “View of Africa” dining room. Between 8.30 and 10.30 every Sunday morning.

4pm free activity

Every afternoon at 4 pm we have a free activity planned for you, with a little snifter of local plonk, to ease you into meeting all your fellow travellers, around the volleyball court or on the beach as a sundowner. The Buccs Booze Cruise is also a great option.

Play in the pool or relax in the shade

We have a fun, sparkly pool area that is just divine in the warm summer months. With a ping pong table, deck chairs and loungers, shady quiet areas to while away the sunlight hours when the incredible Chintsa beach becomes too hot.

Chintsa Beach

Chintsa beach is possibly one of South Africa’s top 5 beaches. 18 kms of unspoilt, walking beach. Beautiful rock pools set amidst fantastic geological rock formations and stretches of interesting shelly beach are within easy walking distance from our property. Enjoy our canoes on the beautiful Chintsa lagoon or grab a boogie board and have a go at boogieing the Chintsa waves.
